Blog thought…..

Blog thought today.

Have you ever noticed how people know exactly who to call when life falls apart?

They call asking for prayer.
They ask you to believe with them.
They ask you to stand in the gap when their faith feels weak.

So you pray.

You cry out to God for them. You carry their burdens. You celebrate when He answers.

Then…life gets better.

And somehow, you become an afterthought.

Sometimes you’re met with a quick “Bless your heart,” while they’re busy celebrating the very breakthrough you prayed for. They forget the late-night conversations. They forget the tears. Sometimes, it even feels like they forget you.

If I’m honest, those thoughts can sting.

Then I stop myself and think…

“Why am I entertaining this?”

I’m human. Of course rejection hurts. Of course being overlooked can make my heart ache.

But then the Holy Spirit gently reminds me…

Who am I to sit in self-pity when Jesus never asked me to pray so I would be remembered? He asked me to love.

And it reminds me of my cement bowl making.

When I pour cement into molds, not every bowl comes out looking like the “first pick.” Some look rough at first. Some don’t seem like they’ll turn into anything special. They sit there—overlooked, not chosen, not admired.

But I’ve learned something in the process…

You can’t judge the final beauty in the middle of the mess.

Because once they’re sanded, shaped, and finished…those same bowls that didn’t look like much at first often become the most beautiful ones. The ones with character. The ones with story. The ones people end up choosing after all.

Maybe people are like that too.

Maybe I’m like that too.

Not everyone will recognize the value in the moment. Not everyone will remember who poured into them when things were messy. But that doesn’t make the pouring any less meaningful.

Maybe I wasn’t meant to be their first choice forever. Maybe I was simply meant to be faithful for the season God placed me in their life.

Not being someone’s first pick is okay.

Because I’m not living for applause down here. I’m living for, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Heaven is where it counts.

So I’ll keep praying.
I’ll keep loving.
I’ll keep pointing people to Jesus—even if they forget who prayed with them.

Because God never forgets.

And His approval will always mean more than man’s recognition.
