Why I’ll always paint hydrangeas.

Why I’ll Always Paint Hydrangeas 🌿💙

Some flowers are just beautiful.

Hydrangeas feel like home.

There’s something about their soft, overflowing blooms that captures my heart every time I pick up a paintbrush. They aren’t perfect—and maybe that’s why I love them. Each petal is a little different, every bloom tells its own story, yet together they create something breathtaking.

When I paint hydrangeas, I’m reminded that beauty isn’t found in perfection. It’s found in layers, in growth, and in the gentle way God creates things that invite us to slow down and simply admire His handiwork.

Creating them is peaceful for me. Every brushstroke becomes a quiet moment of gratitude. The blues, whites, greens, and soft creams remind me that our Creator is the greatest Artist of all, and I get the joy of reflecting just a tiny glimpse of His creation through my own hands.

So you’ll probably see hydrangeas show up in my bowls, paintings, and pottery again and again.

Not because I can’t think of anything else to paint…

But because they never stop inspiring me.

Thank you for following along on this creative journey. I hope every piece I make brings a little peace, a little beauty, and maybe reminds you to pause and notice the flowers God has placed along your own path.

With love,
